ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival
Welcome to Colorado! Please meet at fellow Gobundance member, Kurt Buchert's, Leadville cabin by 3:00pm! While there, we will prep gear, discuss our itinerary, and enjoy our first team dinner. Today’s goal? Acclimate, get to know each other, prep gear, and rest! Tomorrow our mountain festivities begin! Accommodations = Cabin or Hotel. Included meals = Dinner. Miles = 0.
Day 2: Upward Bound
Good early morning! After breakfast, we’re en route to our mountain just one hour away! Once there, we'll begin our hike along the 567-mile Colorado Trail! Tonight, we sleep creekside in an Evergreen forest! Don't forget your One Sheets for our campfire discussions. Your son will have one, too! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 7.5.
Day 3: Alpine Livin' & 13r Mount White
That beautiful 13,000' mountain we've been staring at? Today is your chance to summit it! After hiking four miles uphill to an alpine pass at 13,000', we'll ditch our heavy loads and pitch camp! After a much needed break, you'll have the option to push on two more miles to summit 13r Mount White OR soak up the sights and sounds of Nature at camp! Either way, you can't go wrong! Included meals = Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. Accommodations = Tent. Miles = 5.5.
Day 4: Summit of 14r Mount Antero & Hot Springs!
Good EARLY alpine morning! Today we are sunrise summit-bound! Congratulations on your summit of 14,269' Mount Antero! This mountain was no easy mountain! After our summit, we'll make our way down to camp, pack up, then begin our final descent. Today we cover a lot of miles and it will test each and every one of us. But once completed, we'll celebrate and reward ourselves with a night at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort! Included meals = Breakfast & Lunch. Accommodations = Hot Springs Resort. Miles =13.
Day 5: Departure
Sadly, all good things come to end or at least that’s what we hear. This morning, sleep-in, sip some coffee, soak in the hot springs one last time, and join the crew for one last breakfast. At 11am, we’ll return gear (if needed) and part ways. Flying home? It’s a 3-hour drive to the airport so book your departing flights for no earlier than 4:00pm! Driving away? Feel free to ask BE for local recommendations! Accommodations = N/A. Included Meals = Breakfast. Miles = 0.
RENTAL GEAR:
Backpacking gear can be provided for this journey! You will still need to bring clothing and hygiene items. Everything needs to fit inside your 50-liter pack so check out your Gear List! TRANSPORTATION LOGISTICS:
Driving? Meet BE at Kurt Buchert's Leadville cabin by 3:00pm on Monday! Our journey ends at 11:00am on Friday at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort.
Flying? BE requests flying in-and-out of Denver International Airport. You can rent a car OR we can meet you at the airport or your nearby hotel Monday at noon! We recommend booking your return flight for Friday evening no earlier than 4:00pm since resort checkout is at 11:00am and it's a three hour drive to the airport.
DEPOSITS & PAYMENT PLANS:
A $500 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot is welcomed! After placing your deposit, BE will email you about your preferred payment plan! No worries, there’s no interest or added fees, BE Simple. Balances are due 30 days prior to journey.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:
Journeyers who cancel their journey 90+ days before the start date will be refunded the total amount minus processing fees and the $500 non-refundable deposit.
Journeyers who cancel their journey 30 to 90 days before the start state will be refunded half the total amount minus processing fees.
Journeyers who cancel their journey less than 30 days before the start date will not be refunded.
Participants who choose to leave an active journey for any reason are not entitled to a refund. Due to the nature and heavy costs of operating permits, BE must adhere to the above itinerary and refund policy.

Meet Your Guide
Megan Belay Taylor is owner/operator of BELAY EXPEDITIONS, however, her favorite identities are long-distance expeditionist, mountain climber, and minimalist! She’s been blessed to provide journeys for Gobundance for the last few years and is stoked to be able to provide one in 2025 for the members’ sons!
Belay can be most often found in the states of Colorado and Utah but her nomadic lifestyle continuously takes her all across the nation as well as the globe! Belay’s connection to Gobundance is her brother-in-law, Kurt Buchert, and dear friend, Greg Phillips. To meet your guide a bit more, click here for her bio!
